Hi,
when exim is disabled via update-inetd --disable and thus a line
#<off># smtp stream tcp nowait mail /usr/sbin/exim exim -bs
exists in inetd.conf, the install/upgrade procedure inserts another line, so that exim is re-enabled:
[...] #:MAIL: Mail, news and uucp services. #<off># smtp stream tcp nowait mail /usr/sbin/exim exim -bs smtp stream tcp nowait mail /usr/sbin/exim exim -bs [...]
