Dirk, Have you noticed g++-4.1 taking a long time to do the creation of a shared library? I have a big c++ application that creates quite a few shared libraries and it takes on the order of 10 minutes for the creation of one of my libraries (not all of them) with g++-4.1, whereas with g++-4.0, the same library only takes at most 30 seconds. This is with a debug build and no optimization. As it stands g++-4.1 is not useable for my situation.
