The limit was to avoid too much load on the CGI server. Don't know if it really makes sense. On really big sites, a recursion depth of 3 can check hundreds of thousands links anyway. I might as well allow all recursion depths (including infinity), and add a warning about CGI load/performance in the documentation. Anyway, this is added to the todo list.
