Package: libxine1
Version: 1.1.2-2

Hi,

I'm having troubles with xine and ogg files. Xine can't read some of them.
I'm running xine from debian unstable.

ogg123 manage to read all the ogg files.
AmaroK/Kaffeine do not since they are using xine plugin.

When I "file" the ogg file I get different result:
[working] 01 - Subdivisions.ogg: Ogg data, Vorbis audio, stereo, 44100 Hz,
~320000 bps, created by: Xiph.Org libVorbis I
[not working] 01 - BitterPeace.ogg: Ogg data, Vorbis audio, stereo, 44100 Hz,
~192000 bps, created by: Xiphophorus libVorbis I (1.0 beta 4)

There is no warning in the logs of xine: only the following when I try to read
a ogg file:
xine: found demuxer plugin: Elementary MPEG stream demux plugin
xine: found input plugin: file input plugin
xine: found demuxer plugin: OGG demux plugin
xine: found input plugin: file input plugin

I checked whether the plugin xineplug_{dmx_ogg,decode_vorbis}.so and ogg123
were loading different libraries at least, the common ones are the same:
 linux-gate.so.1 =>  (0xffffe000)
 libvorbis.so.0 => /usr/lib/libvorbis.so.0 (0xb7f44000)
 libspeex.so.1 => /usr/lib/libspeex.so.1 (0xb7f24000)
 libm.so.6 => /lib/tls/libm.so.6 (0xb7ec6000)
 libogg.so.0 => /usr/lib/libogg.so.0 (0xb7ec0000)
 libxine.so.1 => /usr/lib/libxine.so.1 (0xb7e74000)
 libc.so.6 => /lib/tls/libc.so.6 (0xb7d42000)
 /lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0x80000000)
 libpthread.so.0 => /lib/tls/libpthread.so.0 (0xb7d30000)
 libdl.so.2 => /lib/tls/libdl.so.2 (0xb7d2c000)
 libz.so.1 => /usr/lib/libz.so.1 (0xb7cab000)

I assume that a compilation flag is missing, but I can't determine which one.
And following the fact that kaffeine and xine are not able to read some ogg
files and ogg123 is, I assume that the bug is related to libxine1.

I already posted this message to xine-user mailing list but I didn't get any
reply.

Let me know if you need more info.

Cheers,

Fred.
