I'm sorry. I'm too used to using the SVN sources. There is a file
called HACKING that explains everything that developers need to create
their own scripts and add features to Splashy:

I'll make sure that this file is included as part of the distribution
from now on.

I would not have asked the question if this feature was clearly evident in the
documentation; I cannot see it in any splashy* manpage or the README.
