can you "cvs update -AdP" in your cvs checkout and try again?
It seems using (unsupported) transparency + perl causes this crash due to a
bug in watcher registration that is fixed in cvs.
And if it still crashes, do you use transparency?
If cvs is verified to work I can release a new version that fixes this bug
quickly.
