It is a problem with multisync, irmc support has not been implemented
for it yet (no configure GUI e.g.) AFAIK.

If syncing is your main goal, you could try msynctool from
multisync-cli, which should work (but beware, configuring the XML config
for irmc is not easy, take a look at the documentation at
www.opensync.org, maybe that helps.
