Hi,
There are numerous bug reports asking for features in iptables 1.3.5.
I understand that there are some backwards compatibility issues e.g.
with the string match, but the current iptables version is just as
broken with up-to-date kernels, as the new version would be broken with
older kernels.
So I don't see why we can't upgrade to current iptables...

The later we upgrade, the less time we'll have to find and resolve
problems that do actually occur. I doubt there are many users affected
by the string match backwards incompatibility. We should go with
upstream (and kernel) here.
