/etc/init.d/inet disappeared on my system (testing)
after a session of many `dpkg -r` to restart from clean.

netkit-inetd would consistently fail: it would not configure, reinstall,
remove, purge...

To circumvent the problem I had to create the missing file and also make
it executable. Only then could I remove and purge the package, and have
a chance to reinstall it again.
