Package: kernel-image-2.6.10-1-686 Version: 2.6.10-4 Severity: important File: usb-storage
I have upgraded to 2.6.10-1-686 from 2.6.9-1-686 because wifi stopped working with it. However as I begun to use 2.6.10-1-686, I found out that I can no longer use my usb disk LaCie Big Disk 250GB, which is however working perfectly with 2.6.9-1-686. When I connect the drive, the system recognizes it correctly: Mar 5 14:54:08 localhost kernel: usb 3-2: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 3 Mar 5 14:54:16 localhost kernel: usb 1-4: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 8 Mar 5 14:54:16 localhost kernel: scsi1 : SCSI emulation for USB Mass Storage devices Mar 5 14:54:17 localhost usb.agent[16477]: usb-storage: already loaded Mar 5 14:54:21 localhost kernel: Vendor: WDC WD25 Model: 00JB-22FUA0 Rev: 15.0 Mar 5 14:54:21 localhost kernel: Type: Direct-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 04 Mar 5 14:54:21 localhost kernel: SCSI device sda: 488397168 512-byte hdwr sectors (250059 MB) Mar 5 14:54:21 localhost kernel: SCSI device sda: 488397168 512-byte hdwr sectors (250059 MB) Mar 5 14:54:21 localhost kernel: /dev/scsi/host1/bus0/target0/lun0: p1 Mar 5 14:54:21 localhost kernel: Attached scsi disk sda at scsi1, channel 0, id 0, lun 0 Mar 5 14:54:21 localhost scsi.agent[16516]: disk at /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1d.7/usb1/1-4/1-4:1.0/host1/target1:0:0/1:0:0:0 However when I try to access it (using device mapper, because it is all encrypted), the following errors appear in /var/log/messages: Mar 5 14:55:37 localhost kernel: usb 1-4: reset high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 8 Mar 5 14:55:38 localhost kernel: usb 1-4: scsi_eh_1 timed out on ep0in Mar 5 14:55:44 localhost kernel: usb 1-4: scsi_eh_1 timed out on ep0in Mar 5 14:55:44 localhost kernel: usb 1-4: reset high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 8 Mar 5 14:55:45 localhost kernel: usb 1-4: scsi_eh_1 timed out on ep0in Mar 5 14:55:50 localhost kernel: usb 1-4: scsi_eh_1 timed out on ep0in Mar 5 14:55:50 localhost kernel: scsi: Device offlined - not ready after error recovery: host 1 channel 0 id 0 lun 0 Mar 5 14:55:50 localhost kernel: usb 1-4: USB disconnect, address 8 Mar 5 14:55:50 localhost kernel: usb 1-4: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 9 Mar 5 14:55:51 localhost kernel: usb 1-4: khubd timed out on ep0in Mar 5 14:55:56 localhost kernel: usb 1-4: khubd timed out on ep0in Mar 5 14:55:56 localhost kernel: usb 1-4: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 10 Mar 5 14:55:57 localhost kernel: usb 1-4: khubd timed out on ep0in Mar 5 14:56:03 localhost kernel: usb 1-4: khubd timed out on ep0in Thanks for any help.
