Unless I am mistaken, in the present version (1.1.0) I can already input all Compose sequences in Qt programs (with the uim input method). For Debian this would mean -- making the uim input method the default -- including uim-qt in the "uim" metapackage. I think this change would make the Latin IM superfluous, doesn't it? Because all Latin (and also all other) accented letters will be available with all input methods when conversion is switched off (shift-space).
