Package: ifupdown Version: 0.6.7 Kernel 2.6.18-rc1 contains a driver for the zd1211 USB dongle, named "zd1211rw". But initialization fails at boot time: It can't even set the essid (as configured in /etc/network/interfaces).
If I manually run iwconfig to set the essid, then it works.
The previous stand-alone version of zd1211 could be configured
via interfaces without problems, too (using kernel 2.6.17.6).
Here is the entry in /etc/network/interfaces:
auto eth2
allow-hotplug eth2
iface eth2 inet static
wireless-essid harrinet
wireless-mode managed
wireless-rate auto
wireless-key xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx key on
wireless-encryption restricted
address 192.168.1.2
netmask 255.255.255.0
gateway 192.168.1.1
pre-up iptables-restore < /etc/iptables.up.rules
Any help would be highly appreciated.
Regards
Harri
