Okay, I just finished packaging ghdl 0.17 and I believe worked out all 
of the grt linking problems. (It's very touchy so I failed in my last 
few attempts, but finally put enough time into it this weekend to make 
it work.)

I had to work against a newer version of the gcc-core (the "latest" 3.4 
snapshot) to make everything happy for other reasons, and I see there 
have been changes in gnat-3.4; I don't know if any of these changes are 
going to help. We'll see how it does on the other architectures. =)

I actually now have an amd64 machine that I plan to test this on, but I 
haven't yet done that, and may not have time this weekend--so if there 
is interest, give it a shot and see if builds... otherwise, I can test 
it myself later on.
