It would be nice if the error message could also be fixed like giving the 
correct option name.
That also implies a bug in the direction of xserver-xorg-input-synaptics 
package to fix the README.Debian to specify a xorg.conf entry that will work 
with other packages that rely on it.
Many users will probably just copy over what is written there.

None of the README or README.Debian in xserver-xorg-input-synaptics, 
libsynaptics0 or ksynaptics tells the admin that this is actually not 
optional but rather required for advanced usage.
