I don't think this is blocking anything at the moment. mat2 already had a FTBFS, for about a month now, but there is no scheduled testing removal for now.
I'm quite busy currently, but could squeeze in an upload to fix this -- OTOH, I wouldn't mind if you do a NMU yourself, if you've got spare cycles.
