Subject: ubertooth: recommends python3-pyside2.qtgui, python3-pyside2.qtwidgets
and python3-pyside2.qtcore which are not in unstable
Package: ubertooth
Version: 2020.12.R1-2
Usertags: package-relations package-relations-recommends
Severity: normal

Dear maintainer(s),

I noticed that package ubertooth recommends python3-pyside2.qtgui,
python3-pyside2.qtwidgets and python3-pyside2.qtcore, which are
currently not available in unstable.

See:

- https://tracker.debian.org/pkg/python3-pyside2.qtgui
- https://tracker.debian.org/pkg/python3-pyside2.qtwidgets
- https://tracker.debian.org/pkg/python3-pyside2.qtcore

They were deleted from Debian unstable in May 2026, whey the source
package pyside2 was deleted.
What it exists now are the packages python3-pyside6.qtgui,
python3-pyside6.qtwidgets and python3-pyside6.qtcore.

Some more information: I checked ubertooth source code (from current
Salsa's code) and I see that it does
(host/python/specan_ui/ubertooth-specan-ui):
------
from qtpy import QtCore, QtGui, QtWidgets
from qtpy.QtCore import Qt, QPointF, QLineF
------

For this to work, the only package that is needed is python3-qtpy

In ubertooth version 2018.12.R1-5.3 I see:

Depends: libubertooth1 (= 2018.12.R1-5.3), libbluetooth3 (>= 4.91), libbtbb1
(>= 2015.10.R1+20161027git1eecca5), libc6 (>= 2.34), libusb-1.0-0 (>= 2:1.0.8),
python3, python3-numpy
Recommends: ubertooth-firmware, python3-pyside2.qtgui,
python3-pyside2.qtwidgets, python3-pyside2.qtcore

Installing "python3-pyside2.qtgui, python3-pyside2.qtwidgets,
python3-pyside2.qtcore" would not make that imports work.
I think, that it is very likely that the three imports need to be
replaced by python3-qtpy only. I didn't see where ubertooth would need
to use pyside2 related packages.

Thank you for your time,
