Package: ppp
Version: 2.4.4b1-1
Severity: normal
pppd is started with options "updetach plugin rp-pppoe.so lvs-lan".
Its output says:
Plugin rp-pppoe.so loaded.
Timeout waiting for PADO packets
Unable to complete PPPoE Discovery
...but pppd exits with code 0, which is not distinguishable from the
behavior when there is no error (fork and exit with code 0).
Expected result: pppd should exit with nonzero code, IMO the closest
is 7 ("The serial port could not be opened.")
