I see this bug was marked as resolved by util-linux/2.41.1-2, but this version never made it into trixie, so I believe this is still an open bug.
Looking at /usr/share/doc/util-linux/changelog.Debian.gz for package util-linux in trixie, we find only version 2.41-1 which does not mention the remote file: --- util-linux (2.41-1) experimental; urgency=medium * New upstream release. * d/control: put myself directly into the Maintainer field * Refresh patches * Update list of installed localized manpages -- Chris Hofstaedtler <[email protected]> Tue, 18 Mar 2025 17:26:32 +0100 --- In fact the word remote is not mentioned in this changelog file at all: $ zgrep remote /usr/share/doc/util-linux/changelog.Debian.gz However if we compare this to the changelog.Debian.gz for util-linux in unstable, we find that the missing remote PAM configuration file was fixed in version 2.41.1-2: --- util-linux (2.41.1-2) unstable; urgency=medium * Mark uuid_time64 symbol linux-only.
