I have changed in Weblate 4 instances of noveles, mostly for 'nuevos' it is not incorrect in some places, but is not a common use, and in most occurrence it was translating 'new users', not 'newbie users'. Novatos is more like 'newbies'.
I add the Spanish mailing list on CC to keep the rest of the team in the loop.
