As it seems that Debian maintainers do not take their users for serious anymore and did not update cdrtools for a long time, I am no longer sure whether they still know about the Debian roots and about it's early people Bruce Perens who did write the Debian social conteact guidelines (see remark at the bottom of http://www.opensource.org/docs/definition.php). Some Debian maintainers recently started to ignore the Debian social contract: http://www.debian.org/social_contract which is identical to http://www.opensource.org/docs/definition.php.
