I can look into version 9.x and see whether I can be of any help to get it into unstable.
I've reviewed Peter's patch and it looks good to me. From my PoV this is good to upload to security-master, but a second pair of eyes would still be good.LGTM. Peter, do you want to upload it? Or should I? Let me know what you prefer.
