I had a word with the author about this and he said its being used by two other applications; a game and some other webserver written in C, both of which he wants them to be in Debian. This does seem like a rather trivial library to package for Debian. Is it used by anyone other than the author's own application?
The author got in touch with me as he wanted someone to package his project into debian as his RFP has been untouched by anyone for almost 2 years. I don't use slcl myself but I wanted to help him get his software into Debian so that it can be more accessible to other end-users.It's also a dependency for slcl and libweb that I'm going to package.Do you use slcl yourself? The RFP is from the upstream author.
As mentioned above, it will be used by other apps that could be packaged into debian in the future.I wonder if this library would be better vendored with the sole application that uses it?
Thanks, this is a good idea. I'm gonna ask the author about which RFPs/ITPs that use this library and block them using this bug.It might also be helpful to block any other relevant wnpp packages by this one.
