Oh wrong severity syntax ...

Well I didn't broke my system! Or do you want to say that debian (I 
could reproduce that on my 2. system) is broken??
[apt-get remove netbase; dpkg --purge netbase -> problem is there]

Well if it that script is in ifupdown then the problem is 
solved...

No, I still think you stupidly broke your system, but I am waiting 
for a
comment from the release manager about this bug.

(Obviously part of the problem is that the ifupdown maintainer 
still has
not moved ifup -a in that init script.)
