Dear Maintainer, We are running Heimdal in a large OpenLDAP deployment with many thousands of connections per hour. Over time we observe memory usage steadily increasing, suggesting a memory leak in the Heimdal client libraries used by slapd. Upstream has already fixed a memory leak with the following commit: https://github.com/heimdal/heimdal/commit/739f7e0484e412de7de6d5ef1100fcc20836d19d The patch has already been applied in Debian unstable: https://salsa.debian.org/debian/heimdal/-/commit/9a33ad636cd26478ded51ddd069d1369effd5a2a Since this is a small and self-contained fix for a memory leak, it would be very helpful if this patch could be included in the trixie stable release via stable-proposed-updates. Thank you for maintaining Heimdal in Debian. -- System Information: Debian Release: 13.3 APT prefers trixie-updates-prod APT policy: (500, 'trixie-updates-prod'), (500, 'trixie-security-prod'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 6.12.69+deb13-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU threads; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=en_GB:en Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled <http://www.su.se/it> <http://www.su.se/it> <https://www.su.se/om-webbplatsen-1.517562>
