It feels like you ignored my suggestion to simply split the script to set the default input method to a different binary package.
There is a race condition. If someone installs both ibus-anthy and ibus-mozc, which would be set as default? Perhaps my suggested configuration packages should conflict with each other to avoid that issue? I think this issue where systems with the same installed packages have different behavior is enough for the bug to be RC.
