Subject: gtkam: Fails to recognize camera found at cli Package: gtkam Version: 0.1.12-2.2 Severity: important
*** Please type your report below this line *** gtkam fails to recognize a known working camera (Canon Powershot A510), which is recognized at the command line with gphoto2 --auto-detect, and which successfully downloaded photos with gphoto2 --get-files. All attempts to scan for, detect or define the camera through gtkam's Camera->Add Camera menu option failed. I'm working on a client's machine and so will not be able to reproduce the problem or test patches or upgrades after sending this machine home again. But would be happy to pass any such tests along to this person. Errors reported include: No cameras detected. Could not initialize camera. Same error whether I chose a generic USB PTP class camera, or one of the two menu options for the Powershot A510's. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.16.20-12 Locale: LANG=en_CA, LC_CTYPE=en_CA (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Versions of packages gtkam depends on: ii libatk1.0-0 1.11.4-2 The ATK accessibility toolkit ii libc6 2.3.6-15 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libexif-gtk5 0.3.5-3 Library providing GTK+ widgets to ii libexif12 0.6.13-4 library to parse EXIF files ii libglib2.0-0 2.10.2-1 The GLib library of C routines ii libgphoto2-2 2.1.6-13 gphoto2 digital camera library ii libgphoto2-port0 2.1.6-13 gphoto2 digital camera port librar ii libgtk2.0-0 2.6.4-3.1 The GTK+ graphical user interface ii libpango1.0-0 1.12.3-1 Layout and rendering of internatio gtkam recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- Hugh Esco 250-352-9361 [EMAIL PROTECTED] RCK Computer Services http://reclaimedcomputers.ca/ -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
