Package: backuppc
Version: 2.1.0-9
Severity: normal
Hi,
a local backup of /etc failed with
Backup failed on localhost (Tar exited with error 256 () status)
I traced it to the execve call
execve("/bin/env", ["env", "LC_ALL=C", "/bin/tar", "-c", "-v", "-f", "-", "-C",
"/etc", "--totals", "--newer=2005-02-24\\ 22:00:01", "--exclude=./tmp",
"--exclude=./proc", "--exclude=./sys", "."], [/* 12 vars */]) = -1 ENOENT
which fails because env is installed as /usr/bin/env, not as /bin/env.
After adding a symbolic link as a workaround the backup succeeded.
Cheers
JÃrgen
