Actually, this isn't a problem for Debian or Ubuntu or Arch since all these distros figured out how to use gdk-pixbuf with glycin but keep the legacy xpm loader. However, it is a problem for Fedora users since Fedora isn't using the legacy loaders. Thank you, Jeremy Bícha
