Package: shorewall Version: 5.2.8 Severity: normal X-Debbugs-Cc: [email protected]
Hello there, after an update from Debian 11 to Debian 12 shorewall refused to start. Bugs 973990 and 1029403 exactly describe the problem I encountered. I looked at .iptables-restore-stop-input and .iptables-restore-input in /var/lib/shorewall and noticed that the generator version in the header did not match the installed shorewall version of deb12 but rather used the old header from deb 11. Shorewall did work after I wiped the server and re-installed Debian 12 directly. However, that no start after the update was very unexpected.
