Thanks for the report.  Per /usr/share/doc/ncbi-data/NEWS.Debian.gz,
the full UniVec database is absent due to licensing concerns.  I
deliberately left vecscreen's default alone on the grounds that any
usage of an alternate database should be explicit regardless.  However,
I'd be happy to make such usage easier by belatedly configuring the
default directory to be /usr/share/ncbi/data in /etc/.ncbirc (which, in
retrospect, would have been necessary anyway).
