Package: python3-argcomplete Version: 3.6.2-1 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer,
Whenever python3-argcomplete is installed, completions for other Python programs get very slow. Removing python3-argcomplete consistently fixes it for me. For example, this can be reproduced easily just installing python3-argcomplete and trying to use pytest after starting a new shell. If I try to complete even filenames, as in `pytest test/<TAB>`, the shell blocks for a few seconds, and I get no completion whatsoever. Removing python3-argcomplete and restarting the shell fixes it, consistenly. -- System Information: Debian Release: forky/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (900, 'testing'), (500, 'oldstable-security'), (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: arm64 (aarch64) Kernel: Linux 6.1.0-38-arm64 (SMP w/32 CPU threads) Kernel taint flags: TAINT_WARN Locale: LANG=pt_BR.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=pt_BR.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE not set Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages python3-argcomplete depends on: ii python3 3.13.5-1 python3-argcomplete recommends no packages. python3-argcomplete suggests no packages. -- no debconf information
