Some further info. I have noticed when I log in after being away and
WSJTX appears frozen, it is using 100% processor. If I leave it for a few
minutes minutes it eventually recovers. However while frozen like this it
stops reporting to PSK reporter.

I have a low power processor: Intel J5040 from 2019 (10W passively cooled
mini ITX board). WSJTX usually uses about 7% CPU and jt9 uses about 12-20%
when everything is normal.

I usually use the USB audio
"alsa_input.usb-Burr-Brown_from_TI_USB_Audio_CODEC-00.iec958-stereo" for
the rig, but it also freezes using the pulseaudio default with analogue
3.5mm cable. Freezing also happens when I disable the rig connection and
just use a stand alone shortwave radio.

I haven't seen freezes with interactive use, or when it is running in the
background and I am using the computer.

Any ideas why CPU is pegged at 100% when I've been away for a while?
Perhaps this happens to other people, but with a faster CPU the recovery is
quick enough they don't notice.
