* What led up to the situation?
set thunderbird as the default mail client.
in gnome file manager (nautilus), right click on a file and choose "Email..."
opens the compose window but the file is not attached.
* What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
ineffective)?
in nautilus file manager, right click a file, click the "Email..." option
* What was the outcome of this action?
a new thunderbird compose window opens but it does not contain the file
* What outcome did you expect instead?
I expected the compose window to open and it be containing the file i wish to
email
