Thanks for making me aware of that! I don't think the system would have misconfigured itself this way, so I probably misunderstood and consolidated them in the past. Anyway, I don't plan to reinstall from scratch, but I will prune the two directories down (based on another install's files). For now, I've made them exact replicas, as they were effectively that up until now anyway.
