There’s this: https://unix.stackexchange.com/q/797023/86440 A user ended up with the /lib symlink replaced by a real directory, which didn’t help their system work correctly... I don’t know exactly which version was involved, but I don’t see any relevant changes in the last few years. Regards, Stephen
