Did you manage to get to a solution? The policy change has landed in
the meantime.

As a potential solution, I believe renaming /usr/bin/gearmand from
gearman-server package to /usr/bin/gearmand.pl and adjusting start scripts
should resolve the issue.
If there are no better ideas, I'll go with it.

That sounds reasonable to me. Was it implemented?

In the meantime I'm raising the severity of these bugs to serious,
so forky will be released without these policy violations.

Here is the merge request which suppose to rename /usr/bin/gearmand to / usr/bin/gearmand-perl in the gearman-server package
