What GTK theme is configured, and what desktop environment are you using?
Can this crash be reproduced with the Adwaita theme from the gnome-themes-extra package?
If not, then it is probably a bug in the murrine theme engine (gtk2-engines-murrine) and therefore should be reassigned to there.
