Package: firmware-sof-signed Version: 2025.05-1 Severity: important Dear Maintainer,
I recently upgraded to Trixie from Bookworm and audio stopped to work. On Debian 13 (Trixie), audio doesn't work properly with Intel SOF devices (e.g., sof-hda-dsp). Manually installing the `firmware-sof-signed` package version 2025.05-1 from Sid completely resolves the issue. I suggest considering integrating this version into Trixie stable or preparing an official backport. the outcome of this action: After installing the firmware-sof-signed package version 2025.05-1 from Debian Sid on a system running Debian Trixie (stable), the audio issue affecting Intel SOF devices (e.g. sof-hda-dsp) was resolved. The system correctly detected the audio hardware, and playback/recording functionality was restored. outcome expectation: I expected the audio to work out-of-the-box on Debian Trixie using the default firmware-sof-signed package available in the stable repository. Instead, the default version did not support the hardware properly, resulting in missing or non-functional audio devices. -- System Information: Debian Release: 13.0 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable-security'), (500, 'proposed-updates'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 6.12.41+deb13-amd64 (SMP w/20 CPU threads; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE not set Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages firmware-sof-signed depends on: ii dpkg 1.22.21 firmware-sof-signed recommends no packages. firmware-sof-signed suggests no packages. -- no debconf information
