Bug#1072845: Epiphany-browser in trixie shows nothing with libwebkit2gtk-4.1-0 version 2.48.3-1

I have to demote the importance of my prior post within this very bug report: I 
don't know what happened with WebKitGTK 2.44; it's too far ago.  My currently 
installed libwebkit2gtk-4.1-0:amd64 has version 2.48.3-1, and before trixie, 
2.48.1-2~deb12u1 and 2.48.3-1~deb12u1 were installed.  So there may be more 
than one bug.  My current epiphany-browser has version 48.3-2.  Trying to open 
webkit://gpu also shows nothing, as well as any other tried URLs.
