I can confirm this issue, and the solution, with AMD GPU Navi 3x cards
(I've seen in occur with W7700, W7800).

This doesn't seem to be an issue with other AMD GPUs, for example Navi
2x still works fine.

Although I cannot be sure, I think the the kernel is much more likely to
be the culprit here. We found another pass-through bug [1] a while ago
where the issue was related to a workaround for a hardware bug in Navi 3x.

Yes, this seems to be a kernel issue rather than qemu issue. Please
verify if the next bookworm kernel update (6.1.0-35-amd64) fixed the
issue - there were some issues and updates in that area.

And if the last bookworm kernel shows the issue still, we can try to dig
into more details for bookworm - provided trixie kernel works fine (you
can verify it on a bookworm system by installing kernel from backports).

Thanks,
