Package: snowflake-proxy Version: 2.5.1-1+b3 Severity: normal X-Debbugs-Cc: [email protected]
Dear Maintainer, snowflake-proxy 2.5.1 has a memory leak that results in it consuming several gigabytes of RAM after simply letting it run for several days. This might be too much for more resource constrained machines (e.g. a VPS or a Raspberry Pi). The bug has been noted and fixed by upstream in 2.6.0. See the following upstream bug reports: https://gitlab.torproject.org/tpo/anti-censorship/pluggable-transports/snowflake/-/issues/40243 https://gitlab.torproject.org/tpo/anti-censorship/pluggable-transports/snowflake/-/issues/40154 If I understand it correctly, the following merge request contains the fix: https://gitlab.torproject.org/tpo/anti-censorship/pluggable-transports/snowflake/-/merge_requests/175 Sincerely, Lukas Fink -- System Information: Debian Release: 12.11 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable-security'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 6.1.0-37-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU threads; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=de_DE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE not set Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages snowflake-proxy depends on: ii libc6 2.36-9+deb12u10 snowflake-proxy recommends no packages. snowflake-proxy suggests no packages. -- no debconf information
