One caveat to that is that the system serial number exposed as HardwareSerial in the JSON output, is only available as root. Since different machines of the same hardware vendor/model could have different peripherals plugged into them; when available, it might be worth optionally using the system serial number as a differentiator. -- bye, pabs https://wiki.debian.org/PaulWise
