Because I specified this bug does not occur with Thunderbird, I am not sure to understand why it could be the same bug. The issue you mention looks related to flatpack, which I do not use to install Betterbird. In my case, Betterbird is installed by extracting the release archive and creating the desktop file to integrate it.
