The operators of the Debian mirror we have in Mexico City have been keeping an eye on its operation; I have kept it as my main mirror for my personal computers for several months, and I can assert it is stable and up to date. You can check in the URL you shared earlier in this bug report, and it has been consistently up to date (with a quick check, I see maximums of ~4.5hr).
Please consider updating the alias so that ftp.mx.debian.org points at
lidsol.fi-b.unam.mx! It will be a big motivator for the students, starting with
their free software contribution career!
