Package: initscripts
Version: 3.14-3
Severity: wishlist

Dear Maintainer,

/etc/init.d/kmod was recently dropped from the kmod package. The script
used to load kernel modules sourced from drop-in files
in /etc/modules-load.d/ during boot.

My first idea was suggesting the script for inclusion into
orphan-sysvinit-scripts, but it looks like the mechanism only works for
scripts the orphaning package provides a service file for (of which
kmod has none).

To complicate things the kmod package tries to purge rcS.d links on
every upgrade[1] so I had to rename the script.

On the systemd side kmod.service is part of the systemd package. So
maybe its worth to consider the inclusion of /etc/init.d/kmod (or some
variation) into initscripts.

~Tim
