Package: emacs Version: 1:30.1+1-3~bpo12+1 Severity: serious Heya, I'm on Debian stable with Emacs from backports. Hence, Emacs was just upgrading to 30.1 in bpo. In postinst, bytecode compilation fails for elpa-compat, as follows:
---------------------- install/compat-29.1.3.4: byte-compiling for emacs In toplevel form: compat-25.el:24:2: Error: Cannot open load file: No such file or directory, compat-macs ---------------------- Maybe elpa-compat needs to be backported too? I haven't tried to install the elpa-compat version that is currently in testing. (But I can try, it you think it helps.) Thanks a lot for maintaining Emacs in Debian!
