Dear Maintainer,
The most recent ibus update (1.5.32~beta2) breaks the way US intl
layout used to work.
Previously, typing <dead_key> + <space> would render a non-combining
character, for example:
◌́ + <space> = '
◌̂ + <space> = ^
◌̀ + <space> = `
◌̈ + <space> = "
This worked under GNOME out-of-the-box **without** a compose file or a compose
key.
Since 1.5.32~beta2 pressing space no longer completes the dead sequence.
Instead, nothing happens and the prompt waits for a key that will complete it
(such as a letter) or <esc> which aborts the sequence without producing output.
This likely renders US intl near unusable for the majority of users because dead
keys without a compose key were the entire point of US intl to begin with.
To make US intl usable again one needs to:
echo 'include "%L"' >> .config/ibus/Compose
This should *at the very least* be in NEWS.
