Hi,Chris proposed in #1091828 that restartd should be removed from Debian with the following rationale:
Hi, the last maintainer upload was in 2013, and since then there was a single NMU to fix FTBFS with gcc 10. The upstream project has apparently not seen any changes in the last 13 years. From the description of the project I would gather that nowadays one would configure systemd to achieve what restartd did. Thus, I'm asking if this package is still useful in Debian? I would propose removing this package from Debian if there was no answer until 2025-02-01. Chris
The package is no longer in testing due to #1089418 (hench RC buggy), and there has been no reply to Chris's email. Therefore, I am now filing this RM bug.
