Ironically, it looks as though this is only reproducible on
reproducible-builds. Anyone who is particularly upset by this particular
build failure is more than welcome to work on diagnosing and fixing it,
but it doesn't appear to affect the official buildds or be reproducible
on any system I have access to (including Santiago's cloud VM instances),
so it doesn't need to be treated as release-critical.
