Yes, it’s total craziness to try and mix upstream and debian revisions history in the same git repository. So all the team’s repos are storing only the debian/ folder. You can download the upstream source with uscan --download-current-version (or from the debian archive with apt source). dpkg-buildpackage and sbuild will automatically find the upstream orig tar and do the right thing. Tools like debuild require you to first unpack the source in your working dir. So, won’t fix. Happy hacking, -- Aurélien
